The Zodiac Watch Co, was founded in 1882 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Ariste Calame.
Calame’s ambitions were to create a watch like no other. Zodiac watches were known for their quality and innovation. A few firsts by Zodiac were the first Swiss-designed automatic sports watch in 1930; the first professional sports and divers watch in 1953; the first Swiss analog quartz watch in 1970; and the patent of a shock resistant case in 1974.
Zodiac timepieces have won several awards over the years. In 1965 they won a prize at the Montres et Bijoux Exhibition in Geneva. In 1967 they won first prize at the World’s Fair in Montreal. Zodiac is still manufacturing fine timepieces today.
