The Wakmann Watch co. was founded in New York.
They were importers of high-quality wristwatches to North America.
The company was eventually purchased by Breitling, allowing the firm to ship their movements to the U.S. and have them set and sold in cases.
Some Breitling watches carry Wakmann-marked movements.
Some Wakmann watches have Breitling movements.
Wakmann also bought movements from Landeron, Lemania and Valjoux.
Some are fine quality; some were cheaply made.
