Possibly watch of the oldest watch-making companies in the world today, it was founded in 1740 by Jurgen Jurgensen under the original name of Larpent & Jürgensen.
It was in 1838 that Jurgensen’s grandson, Jules, took over the company and began producing watches under the name “Jules Jurgensen.”
Production under this name lasted until 1957.
Since then, production has been outsourced to other firms.
Today, the company is owned by Mort Clayman, a watch distributor in the United States.
