Chronographe Suisse

Watches marked “Chronographe Suisse” were made during the 1940s through the late 1950s.
They were generic Swiss watches made for the tourist trade.
The cases were made of an exterior of sheet gold and an inner case made of heavy brass.
An interesting note: They were commonly made with cheap Landeron movements.
Their life expectancy was a mere 14 days; enough time for the tourists to return home.
However, many of them have survived and are still running strong today.
